Last week, we participated in the Asia Climate Week, organized by IETA. During this event, Cercarbono had the privilege of engaging in two crucial discussions for the future of carbon markets:

Special IETA Asia Climate Opening Event by COP28 Presidency

In this event, discussions revolved around the advancements and prospects of various standards leading up to COP28. The focus was on enhancing transparency and integrity in carbon markets. Our participation in this event allowed us to exchange ideas and insights with key stakeholders in the industry, reinforcing the importance of our work in the carbon standards arena.

SustainCERT’s “DMRV: Updates and Future Perspectives from Standard Bodies”

At this event, Cercarbono gained valuable insights into the evolving landscape of digital transformation and the integration of new technologies in certification processes. These innovations promise to enhance certification procedures’ efficiency and reliability.

During the event, Cercarbono discussed the latest developments in our standard and emphasized the important endorsement of ICROA, marking a new level of recognition for our commitment to transparency and integrity.

Key takeaways include:

  • Emphasis on the need for continuous improvement in standards to enhance market transparency and integrity.
  • The critical importance of expediting the adoption of digital tools for more efficient certification processes.
  • A reaffirmed commitment to align and incorporate solutions in line with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
  • Recognizing the value of collaboration among diverse market actors, including those outside the traditional sphere, in advancing climate change mitigation efforts.

Cercarbono’s participation in the Asian Climate Summit is in perfect harmony with our objectives to strengthen our global presence and contribute to global climate goals.
